We started Empowering Latinas in STEM with a simple goal in mind: to create a program where we can successfully mentor and support countless young Latinas in their journey towards developing a passion for STEM while fostering a sense of empowerment and self-confidence.
At Empowering Latinas in STEM we believe that every voice should be heard and understood. We share a love for everyone and understand that everyone has failures but it is what we do with them that makes us successful. We believe that no matter how “bad” a student believes they are at a subject, there is always a way of turning it around for the better.
We will develop hands-on experiments such as the Strawberry DNA extraction lab or the cloud in a jar. All our experiments are 100% safe and will foster a sense of curiosity in every child. We will also host motivational speeches with other inspiring success stories to serve as role models for the children.
